The Kirton in Lindsey Society are a brilliant civic and history society in our area. They hold public meetings, talks and look to preserve some of the most fascinating and important historical sites and materials we have in our area.
Most recently, the Kirton in Lindsey Society dedicated their efforts to the restoration and repair of prison doors from Kirton Bridewell, which were built in 1790. I am so pleased to say that the Community Grand fund was able to help in doing so, with over £2,000 of the fund entrusted to the restoration of these prison doors.
It was great to see the restoration completed, and a delight to see such a fantastic society that aims to safeguard the historically significant areas and items of our area receive such well-deserved funding!
