It remains as important as ever that everyone in our communities receive the support they need, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
This is why, earlier this month, I signed a joint letter to the Chancellor of the Exchequer written by my colleague, Sir David Davis MP. This letter requests a consideration of increased funding for our SEND communities, as well as a reassessment of funding allocations to ensure that the right funding is assigned for the areas and people that need it most when drawing up plans for the Budget.
It was great to see an initial £105mn commitment to over 50 new special free schools, creating an additional 2,000 places for SEND children across England. I'll be looking at this closely to see where they end up, and look forward to seeing even more progress made on this front
