I was recently able to raise some of the issues that are important to us here in Scunthorpe, with one of those being NHS dentistry. I am grateful for the work that the Government is doing to provide Scunthorpe with additional health facilities, including the £19.4 million secured for a new Community Diagnostic Centre, alongside our brilliant new A&E. However, everyone should be able to have open and easy access to an NHS dentist, I welcome the work the government is doing to ensure that this is the case but I will continue to raise it until this is in place for everyone in our area.
I pressed the Government to consider the previously discussed idea of a tie-in, which will ensure that trained dentists dedicate a certain percentage of their time to delivering NHS dental care to patients.
