We all know how important farmers and farmland are here in our community, with Greater Lincolnshire being responsible for an astounding 10% of England's agricultural output.
With recent floods damaging farmland, it was great to be able to meet some of our fantastic local farmers to discuss these floods, as well as the work of our local drainage board and the Environment Agency.
We had a really productive discussion, which gave me the opportunity to gain some greater insight into the devastating effects that flooding can have on their livelihoods. It is so important that we protect our farmland and our farmers, and I will continue to push for this to be the case.
