Fantastic news for everyone across the UK, with the Government’s announcement that they will spend an £600 million to support adult social care over the next two years!
Building on the existing £1.4 billion Market Sustainability and Improvement Fund announced in last year’s Autumn Statement, the brand-new Workforce Fund looks to allow local authorities such as North Lincolnshire Council to improve the capacity of adult social care, as well as providing more comprehensive support for the workforce, including on pay.
The Government and myself are incredibly grateful for all health and care staff that dedicate their time and energy into providing the best care for all those who need it. This new Workforce Fund reflects our appreciation to all staff, and will see tangible improvements to the adult social care system.
I look forward to seeing all the positive effects that this Workforce Fund will have on cutting waiting lists and improving adult social care here in Scunthorpe.
