Like many fans and residents I have been concerned about the recent developments at Scunthorpe United FC. It’s clear that the fans and staff deserve better, and every step possible must be taken to ensure that the club remains open and can be enjoyed and supported by families well into the future.
As residents will know, there are limited steps that an MP can take in these circumstances, but I stand ready to assist in any way I can. Earlier this week I wrote to the National League North and the Sports Minister asking them to intervene in any way they can. I’ve also raised my concerns with North Lincs Council and officials from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and have made sure that the Minister is personally aware of what is happening.
I will of course continue to follow events closely and do all I can to assist.
