Housing Secretary has today reopened the Housing Sector in a statement in Parliament. He has also written to MPs to confirm that the 450,000 property sales put on hold can now be completed, allowing these people to start a new chapter in their lives. I have attached the letter at the bottom of this page.
This announcement is accompanied with guidance for consumers and the housing industry on how to maximise safety during this pandemic.
The Housing Secretary also confirmed that construction will be supported with flexible site working times and a new Charter published with the Home Building Federation.
It is also great to see the Secretary of State encouraging Planning Permission Applications to be dealt with online through virtual hearings, which keeps us safe and increases efficiency. Planning Inspectorate’s new guidance here.
