I often have residents contact me on the topic of fly-tipping. Particularly in the Crosby / Town area. While it may be easy to blame the council for the issue, we need to recognise that it is the reckless behaviour of some individuals that is causing this problem and the council take significant steps to remove waste.
I encourage everyone to report any incidents of fly-tipping to North Lincolnshire Council as soon as you spot them using the council’s online flytipping form. The council aims to collect fly-tipped waste within 7 days, but your reports are essential to making that happen. Use the link below to make your report:
http://www.northlincs.gov.uk/.../fly-tipping-and.../
If possible, please include specific details about the location, the duration of the fly-tipping, and even photographic evidence.
Remember, this is everyone's problem. Where practical, talk to your neighbours, educate them about the impacts of fly-tipping, and encourage them to dispose of their waste appropriately. Quite frankly, I am sick to the back teeth of individuals ruining our area and costing us as council tax payers to clean up their mess and I know many locally feel the same. Together, we can make a difference.
I have also asked the council to implement more measures to tackle flytipping: more door knocking in the area, enhancing patrols and monitoring, delivering leaflets against flytipping, explore the idea of setting out regular skips, and reviewing HMO and bin allocations.
If residents have taken the right steps and notified the council of the issue, I would be grateful if they can keep me informed when the rubbish is collected.
