One-to-one sessions in Scunthorpe for former British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS) members
6 December 2021 - 9 December 2021
You could be one of the many people due compensation after receiving unsuitable advice to transfer out of the British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS).
To receive this compensation, you need to make a complaint. Hundreds of steelworkers have already complained.
We will have representatives available from the organisations below who can help you in different ways:
- Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
- Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)
- Financial Ombudsman Service
- MoneyHelper
You can book one-to-one appointments with the FCA, and either FSCS or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
MoneyHelper will be on hand throughout to offer general pensions information and guidance.
Who should I speak to?
You should speak to the FCA to find out what the advice process should have involved.
You should speak to either the FSCS (for firms that are no longer trading) or the Financial Ombudsman Service (for firms still in business) to find out how to make a complaint or raise a claim. If you are unsure which of these to see please email stakeholder.enquiries@financial-ombudsman.org.uk
MoneyHelper can offer general pensions information and guidance.
Who should attend?
If you transferred out of the British Steel Pension Scheme, and received financial advice, you should attend this event.
We do not expect financial advisers, or other representatives of financial services firms to attend. The event is intended for former BSPS members only.
If you are not able to attend...
