Last Wednesday, I chaired a virtual panel discussion on HIV Stigma, as part of my role as Vice Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for HIV and AIDS.
In particular, we discussed the need for both better access to HIV testing for women, and more research into which woman are most at risk of HIV. The rest of the Panel gave some incredibly useful accounts of others' experiences, and made the seriousness of this issue clear.
Having written to the Health Secretary on this issue previously and tabled Written Questions about PrEP access, I will continue to work with the group to improve health outcomes for women at risk of HIV and AIDS.
