I share concerns about the growing escalation – and really is upsetting to see that more people are getting hurt in this longstanding conflict.
I sincerely hope that the current situation can be de-escalated as soon as possible and dialogue can restart. I support our government in seeking to secure de-escalation, and I know that our Foreign Secretary, Regional Minister and UN Security Council Representatives are working hard on this.
I am sure that residents will share my personal frustrations regarding the recent anti-Semitic incidents we have seen in London. I think we can all be in agreement that any form of prejudicial attack, no matter who it is directed at, is vile and affront to our values.
The situation is fast-moving, and the Foreign Office will, of course, keep all the tools available to them under review. Jerusalem is a place that many people across the world hold close to their hearts- I know it will be truly heart-breaking for many to see what is going on. I am deeply concerned and will continue to follow developments closely.
