IMPORTANT DEADLINES: Making the best of "New Furlough"

The "old furlough" will end on the 30th June, and the "new furlough" will only be applicable for employees who have previously been on furlough for the minimum 3 week period.

In other words, if you want to make use of  "new furlough" (July onwards) for an employee they should be furloughed for at least once. If they have not been furloughed at any point during the entire duration of the crisis they will not be eligible for furlough from July onwards.
The cut-off date for furloughing an employee who has yet to be furloughed is 10th June.
You will also have until 31st July to make claims for the period before 30th June.

Second Self-Employed Income Support Scheme

Eligible individuals can claim a taxable grant worth 70 per cent of their average monthly trading profits, paid out in a single instalment covering three months’ worth of profit, and capped at £6,570 in total.

The eligibility criteria are the same for both grants, and individuals will need to confirm that their business has been adversely affected by coronavirus when applying for the second and final grant. An individual does not need to have claimed the first grant in order to be eligible for the second and final grant.

Applications will open in August 2020. Further information on the second grant will be available on on 12 June 2020.

Take care,
