Letter to the Chancellor: Fighting for those who have fallen through the cracks

Today, I have written to the Chancellor to address FOUR key areas where businesses are missing out on economic support. These queries concerned:

•           Government guidance only allowing grants to be paid to the ratepayers of commercial properties. This requires shared tenants to split grants, or risks the landlord withholding payment.

•           Clarity on whether grants count as taxable income.

•           Tapering grant funding for hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities that have a rateable value of £51,000 and are thus not eligible for grants.

•           Encouraging insurers to consider ‘partial’ payouts to recover lost faith in the industry following this crisis.

I look forward to his response.

I am constantly working with businesses, large and small, to ensure that they receive the financial support that they need. If you are struggling with your business, please get in touch with me and I will do all I can to help.
