Good morning,
FURLOUGH SCHEME EXTENTION
Furlough Scheme extended to October. No changes until end of July.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that the Government will continue to pay 80% of wages to those who claim until the end of July.
From August, furloughed workers will be able to return to work part-time with employers being asked to pay a percentage towards their salaries. This will be subtracted from the Government’s contribution so the furloughed worker will continue to receive 80% of salary up to £2,500 a month - the finer details are still being worked on, with more information by the end of the month.
WORKPLACE SAFETY
The Government continues to emphasise the importance of a "COVID-19 Secure" workplace - with additional funding allocated for the Health and Safety Executive who could conduct "spot checks" on businesses. Please look at the industry-specific guidelines applicable to your business.
