We have an incredible set of schools and colleges in our area. I regularly correspond with the teachers in our area to make them aware of new opportunities and ensure they have the resources they need.
A secure, long-term future for our steelworks is not just essential for Scunthorpe, but for the country. It is not uncommon for Ministers and colleagues to refer to me as the 'steel lady', as they know what my priorities in Westminster are!
The campaign continues to secure an upgraded, or new, Scunthorpe Hospital. We have already made good progress in securing a £50 million investment into both a new Accident and Emergency Department and a refurbished Acute Assessment Unit where the old A&E was.
Our local transport system is getting the improvements it needs for people to get to and from work, see loved ones and spend locally. So far, you will have seen that £4.5 million has been invested into building a new link road between the M181 and Scotter Road, easing congestion on Berkeley Circl
I've been working with Humberside Fire Authority, Hull University and North Lincs Council since my election, on a plan for a national flood resilience centre 'The Ark' to be built in Scunthorpe.
As your MP I am always keen to support local businesses and community groups. One of my priorities over the next five years is to build up our local area and high street, and so far we have secured £30 million from the Government's Towns Fund and High Streets Fund to do so.
